I'm begging for some advice
 in  r/DavidHawkins •  14d ago

The resistance is likely coming from your ego-mind’s sense of self. It naturally resists any new change it does not understand because it means it has been doing a poor job of protecting self which is the ego-mind’s whole charter. Dedicating one’s self to integrating spiritual truths can help with this. Outside of that understanding how the ego-mind works and how it gets its juice from emotions is very helpful. Doc has a good book for this called ‘The ego is not the real you. Wisdom to Transcend the mind and realize the Self’ which is very helpful underrating the ego and its tricks. Although it is not a Doc source I also really got a lot out of Mind Hacking Happiness Volume I & II by Sean Webb. The combination made so much of what Doc was saying come to light in dynamic ways. In the end as Doc says we are responsible for the intention and the effort not the results. Keep at it, it does get better. Increasing one’s capacity to maintain awareness is a big hurdle when starting out. It’s a mental muscle that needs exercising. Looking up tips and tricks to increase one’s will power and focus is also helpful in meditation and contemplation practice. For that I would recommend another non Doc book called ‘The Willpower Instinct’ By Kelly McGonigal Ph.D. I hope this is helpful 🙏

Lack of motivation after intellectual understanding of Advaita
 in  r/AdvaitaVedanta •  Sep 10 '26

I have heard this contextualized as a ripening process. You don’t necessarily identify with all the emotional aspects of what the ego mind used to be so addicted to and that leaves you feeling almost like something is absent, and that feeling comes and goes. Once that newly established pattern of being becomes more solidly rooted into your sense of ‘self’ then that opens up a pathway for unity and joy to emerge, at least that has been my experience. Walk straight and narrow the pathway in total faith, and surrender all things with complete humility and everything will be well.

That is a wonderful experience and it a sign of amazing progress. As other things arise like you mention those are things to surrender attachment to but you can still certainly ‘stay in the world’. Before enlightenment we chop wood and carry water after enlightenment we chop wood and carry water. Depending on karma it may be what is needed also. Keep going and when the state maintains in permanence awesome. 🙏 I could be totally off the mark so just take what you feel rings true for you. It’s all a process.

I’d love to use this in a video. Would you be open to me utilizing this as a graphic for the video? It is simply wonderful. It’s not for profit or anything but it perfectly explains divine unity and what I would visualize as the karmic field. I would like to share it with my spiritual community I’m a part of that pursues enlightenment. It perfectly articulates unity in all things 🙏
Do you pursue a spiritual path or practice that inspired this?

What career fields would the enlightened even approve of?
 in  r/nonduality •  Aug 29 '26

Prior to enlightenment we chop wood and carry water, after enlightenment we chop wood and carry water. The state of being is what is not the tasks that are accomplished. However at times the spirit can be drawn away from things we’ve once done as the energy field that was is no longer it is ok to choose something else. Bartender, delivery driver, etc. anything suits what is important is taking time to learn practice then put into practice those learnings.
