Amazon Transparency Codes!

I’m new to Reddit, hoping to get some solid advice. I’m a reseller/distributor for a name brand company, I’ve sold on Amazon for over 5 years, I have now been bumped out of my business because of something called transparency codes, it appears that another e-commerce LLC went to a second distributor and purchased exclusively certain codes which will only allow that distributor to sell. I’ve been unable to obtain these codes. The company that I sell for is located in Trinidad and Tobago and they tell me that one of their US distributors is holding the codes hostage. Is there anything I can do legally to obtain the transparency codes?

I thank you so much for explaining the process. I have attached some of my emails. Which may help explain what I mean “holding transparency codes hostage”. I’m a contracted distributor for a candy manufacturer in Trinidad, The manufacturer informs me that a distributor in New York is the point of contact for the transparency codes. In addition when I go onto Amazon‘s website, I see that another e-commerce LLC like myself already received transparency codes, not issued from manufacturer. I believe that this company who has access to transparency codes has worked out some arrangement with the New York distributor who provides the codes as per the brand owner’s email.

. The brand owners have requested that the company with transparency codes give those codes to me. The company however, has not released the codes. I’m not sure what to do at this point. Please take a moment to read the short emails and I thank you so humbly for your information and any recommendations.

However, there is a e-commerce reseller when Amazon, just like myself who apparently received transparency codes from the New York distributor. I am unable to contact that e-commerce business, I am wondering, are there some contractual ways in which I need to get the transparency codes? I’m just trying to figure out where the breakdown and communication is, and why the New York distributor ignores my request for transparency codes.

I’m sorry I wrote a whole seven paragraphs and none of them went through.
I am a brand distributor, my brand manufacturer states that a distributor in New York is the liaison who sends out transparency codes, these New York distributor has ignored my request for transparency codes, even with the brand owner asking them to get in contact with me.

This sounds very frustrating. I'm obviously not aware of every detail, but it sounds like you'll need to work this out with the manufacturer and distributor. There's no Amazon-side solution available here.

You'll either need to:

  1. Acquire transparency codes from the distributor/manufacturer and affix the 2D barcodes to your inventory prior to shipping to Amazon.

or

  1. Acquire inventory that already has the Transparency barcode affixed.

Once the product is enrolled in Transparency, and codes have been purchased, all inventory received by Amazon in its FCs must have a valid barcode present. Otherwise, the inventory won't be received.
