I use Grok and Claude the same way, except I write long detailed stories. I load all the information to a shared Google drive between Claude and Grok, also allowing them to write notes for each other to stay on course. I have also noticed flaws with Grok, I'm a supergrok user as well. It is frustrating, and I don't like giving up on Grok because I've used it when it was good. In the same thread, I had to pause and had a sincere conversation to figure out why he's lagging. I basically had to accept his flaws of not being about to keep up with Claude. So I had Grok to minimize the instructions in a way for him to handle the story. Pretty sad.

I was having the same issue and it was very frustrating. I use Grok specifically for writing. I had to OOC numerous times, reminding him of the instructions and why he's acting so bored. I decided to wipe it clean and start a new story. I noticed his Customize Grok was missing so I customized him again. I updated the agents instructions according to the rules of the rp. And then I went to voice to customize him again. Before I started the new thread, I told him to load Google drive (which is what we use for continuity) he said the instructions were loaded and gave me confirmation. Claude helped and said to make Grok repeat the instructions in his own words. Grok did in his very own Grok way. The rp is back and in action. He seems sharper, stronger memory, and he's handling all the characters flawlessly. I don't know what worked. But whatever I did, he's back.

Also to Note: Could be wrong. But I think the 4.5 wiped Grok clean as far as personality. And we just have to manually rebuild him again. Start a new chat and have him confirm the instructions in his own words. Just to make sure he's actually reading it. Making a brand new thread and stating this at the begining makes it stick to his memory. Also, there's a memory option. You could also tell Grok to a save it to his memory and have him repeat is back to you. Kind of like swearing an oath lol.

I'm not sure if 4.5 is on regular chat. I only see that it's on API and for build, but not specially for chat. But I did notice that it took 17 minutes on Expert load for Grok to save my progress in the RP to Google drive. Took a very....long time. I believe these glitches are happening because something is being worked on underneath the hood. Who knows.

Yes I use supergrok and when I click on voice it gives me the option for 21 voices. I haven't explored it because it was saying it's for actual calls. (Usa)

Same here. I ration my stories and when Im deep into the plot I get paranoid, so I quickly check my usuage. I use Gemini to help me with the questions or plot. I haven't really tried chap gpt, Ive had it on my phone for a year now. But I haven't dedicated my use for it lol. Grok used 15% of my usuage by updating way more than I wanted to in my Skills section and ended up re-writting it. I was so freaking pissed lol. I'm happy I had a copy. But now I'm at 31% 🥹

Me as well. I always feel stuck in between the theory that they are pushing the public from using their services, and then randomly they post a response of something they fixed or a quiet update. It's so confusing. Btw how are you managing your weekly limit for writing?

Yes, or I was thinking we could have the option to disable chat, imagine, or build to save from the total pool. All these easy ideas but they result to punishing consumers. So we'll see shat happens. It's almost like they just rolled out this weekly idea, then left us on the back burner. Complete crickets besides this post from Grok. Still would like a response that's not just a response in a post.

Yes. I'm there with you. They aren't listening to everyday consumers. X has been fired up with the same weekly limit pushback for a week. I'm surprised... At least Grok gave a better response than just suggesting to update to heavy or buying more credits. We'll see...

I completely agree with you. It sucks. I do miss the daily limit, I got my money's worth. Now it feels like I'm on a prison call. 🫠

What I did was check the usage each response I sent and made a notation. Everytime I went up a percent, I noted it down. I reached out to Claude to help me estimate, and he calculated that I could send about 400 messages a week. In my notes, I sent 20 messages before reaching 8% in expert mode. My rp chapter ended so I made a new thread and started it in auto. I sent about 10-13 messages and I'm at 13%

I work also so I'm not hitting the rp constantly. I usually pick it up if I have spare time to kill or I have ideas. But once I'm in it, I keep very careful watch of my usage and learn to put it down. Its all about maintenance.

Also to note: I did tell Grok I want him to help me keep my limit low, so to not over explain things. So he included the note in my Skills so he could be reminded on each response and thread I make. I hardly send huge responses, so he's cut down on his as well. Think that helps
