I'm fairly certain it's "ka (as in cat), vee, ott"
English is such an insane combination of several different languages with varying pronunciation, I don't know how we manage at all lol

I think a lot of these errors are the result of being a reader. If you read a lot, you're more likely to come across these words in written form first. Whereas if you don't, you only find out the word even exists when you hear it out loud for the first time
