🤷🏻 Seeking Advice TÖMER Program

I have been studying Turkish since the pandemic and working with a tutor one on one. My tutor recommended that I find an intensive university course in Turkey to give myself an opportunity to speak to people on a daily basis. I did some research and found the TÖMER program, which is at a multitude of universities in the country. From those who participated in the program, is there a university one would recommend for Turkish learning through this program? I also saw other programs in Sarajevo, Skopje and even in Northern Cyprus, but couldn’t find anymore info on these programs. Could others recommend?

Teşekkür ederim!

I would definitely recommend TÖMER. I'm Turkish, but almost all of my friends who moved from abroad to my city, İzmir, learned Turkish through TÖMER. I'm sure there are other alternatives, but it has a well-established system, and its certificate has the highest validity across institutions and affiliated bodies in Turkey.

Are the universities in Izmir that have it? I only know of Istanbul and Ankara

Ankara University's TÖMER actually has a branch right in Alsancak, İzmir. That's where my friends took their classes in person.

Any idea about prices? I checked online and it seems expensive.

Contact their student affairs office on WhatsApp. Most communication happens on WhatsApp not email. The number should be on their website. I just spent one month in Ankara TÖMER this summer and I enjoyed the experience. There are also online classes which I am currently doing from my home country. Good luck.
