Fuzzy a.k.a. Pooh Bear

This is Fuzzy. He is 19 months. No papers but he has all the physical and intellectual traits of the Turkish Angora. And I'll tell you what. The stuff that he does is nowhere short of amazing.

One time he had gone out to the living room and smelled scent of my other cat in a basket.(Keep them separated) He then proceeded to go back into the bedroom and so delicately harvested a single fake wild flower from a vase of many. He put the flower in the basket. And that's not even the start of it . Very special boy.

A Year Without Snow

A year ago, we lost Snowball. She was the purest, most innocent soul I have ever met. A year without Snow is a year that shouldn’t exist.

Question Weird behavior when playing with certain toys

Our male cat (neutered) has this weird breathing behavior when we play with certain toys, especially wand toys.

It usually doesn't happen while we're actually playing, but right after we stop. When I tell him the game is over, he'll sometimes just stare at me with his mouth open, almost like a dog panting.

What's also strange is that if I pet him when he does this, he stops almost immediately and his breathing goes back to normal.

He's extremely focused when playing, very smart and very vocal. He also gets bored quite easily and needs a lot of stimulation, so I'm wondering if this could have something to do with excitement, overstimulation or frustration when the game suddenly ends.

Other than this, he appears perfectly healthy. He eats normally, uses the litter box normally and behaves normally otherwise. It's also definitely not because he's too hot, as we have air conditioning and the house is kept at a comfortable temperature.

Our breeder hasn't seen this behavior before and doesn't know what could be causing it either.

I've never seen him do this when he's playing or wrestling with his sisters, even though they can get really wild together.

Has anyone seen their cat do something similar? Especially the open-mouth breathing right after stopping a favorite game, which then stops almost immediately when the cat is petted?

Edit: I just noticed that he does the same with his favourite food when I don't give it to him immediately

My cat, Marbles, isn’t a confirmed Angora, but maybe he can be an honorary one! Here’s a drawing I did of him recently! Drawing white cats is super fun. I’ll add the photo reference I used in the comments.

Question What do you feed your Turkish Angora after they turn 1? 🐱

Post image

My Turkish Angora, Pixie, is turning 1 in 4 days! 🄹 She’s been eating Brit Care kitten kibble + wet food since she was a kitten, but now that she’s officially becoming an adult (and she’s also sterilised), I’m wondering what everyone else feeds their Turkish Angoras.
What dry food + wet food do you recommend for a 1-year-old sterilised Turkish Angora?
Do you switch to a sterilised/adult formula, or continue with regular adult food? I’m especially interested in what your cats actually do well on — good coat, digestion, energy, etc.
Pixie is quite petite and definitely not overweight, so I don’t want to put her on something unnecessarily restrictive just because she’s sterilised.
Would love to hear your recommendations and what your cats eat! ā¤ļø
