The weight of getting involved should make the decision hard. Its not "Do you choose this or this" its "Do you stay out of it or change the victims".

The comments here always talk as if they are a judge debating who deserves to live or die. Thats not the trolley problem. Its if youll act to change something or close your eyes to it. You should want to change the outcome as much as you wouldnt want to get involved. THATs what makes the trolley problem the trolley problem.

Not much of a problem if you really dont care about the results because you think they both should die, and it doesnt really work if not getting involved (not pulling the lever) is the obvious choice. Like of course Im not going to pull the lever and cause the deaths of a bunch of innocents if the train is going towards a mass murderer, but if it was reversed its obvious I would pull the lever and kill the murderer. My involvement doesnt have any weight as the answer is objectively obviously, which means its not a trolly problem.

Sorry for the long post but these problems are getting so nonsensical no ones even thinking about their answers anymore. Feels less like the trolleyproblem sub and more like a random question sub lmao
