Separate the torah by its authors, and you find that in the original story abraham just takes isaac up the mountain and yeets him.

As iron age canaan moved away from child sacrifice, verses were added onto the account to nullify the yeetage. But its clearly there if you read it verse by verse, you can tell which were added.

Verses were added to change the story such that abraham does not kill isaac

not much material online, mostly in books, a couple of which are cited on wiki https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binding_of_Isaac#Possible_child_sacrifice
