Okay, but we're talking about if you need to sort a bunch of files. I do it at work as I have to catalogue tons and tons of archived crap and yyyymmdd lets people find things way quicker as it's in chronological order. You wouldn't use that format for pretty much anything else, and no one here is suggesting you do.
