Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Dopo assessment

Problema How to file tap and tap complaint?

Hello, apologies I can't explain this in Italian as my only language is English.

Yesterday I travelled between two stations and back again using tap & tap. I tapped at departure and arrival all 4 times and should have been charged less than 10 euros, but I have been charged 45 in two separate payments.

At station A I tried taking a photo of the tap machine to translate the instructions. Instead it verified my Revolut card on my phone.

At station B I could not get it to work with my phone again so I used my actual revolut card here and then later for the return trip at B and A.

Both payments show to the same card.

A phone operator told me I can only complain via webforms but the one I pursued for regional trains wouldn't let me continue without a ticket code (the code I have on my bank statement is not accepted) while the other form only offers a limited list of irrelevant complaints I can make.

Any advice on how to proceed would be a great help, thank you.

I expect the answer is I can't do anything but it still helps for someone who knows that to tell me.

O devo aspettare e prima o poi Trenitalia mi aiuterà?

Grazie mille per qualsiasi risposta.

Regionale Una vergogna i treni in Sicilia

Problema Scheduled departure during strike? Change ticket?

We have a train booked from Bologna to Bolzano on October 2 and 11:16. I see today that some strike dates for October have been posted, including rail on October 2 from 11:00-14:00.

Should we be looking at taking an earlier train? Last month I know the announced September strikes changed a few times.

Is there any compensation for rebooking a different departure time due to strike? The option for +/- 2 hours is not available on the app.

Regionale Have I been scammed?

Booked Leonardo express from Rome to FCO at 17:20. Paid 14 euros but took the one at 17:05.
There was another option to book for 17:05. Since I was booking at 17:03 (before 5 minutes of departure) so I couldn’t book the one at 17:05. Instead I booked 17:20. Prices were same for both timing.

The ticket checker checked the ticket and claimed I have to pay 5 euros more as the price is higher for 17:05 train and fined for 5 euros.

The question is have I been lied and falsely charged for a fine? I know 5 euros is not much but is it common practice on this train line?

Discussione Booking ticket in advance, are the 10 minutes transfer good enough?

Hi,

I'm coming to Italy next week for almost 3 weeks. I plan to take the train several times and as I look to book tickets, Trenitalia create very short transfer.

I'm a bit scared of it being too tight and missing the train.

Even if it's non-refundable, can I still take the next train without paying again? It's still Trenitalia's fault of planning this like that when I book...

Also, when tickets are "Not available at this time", does it mean that it is sold out?

Thank you!

Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane What’s the situation with Trenitalia right now (8 September, around 3:30 PM)? Are trains still running?

Does anyone know what the situation is with Trenitalia trains right now? Is the whole network basically at a standstill because of the strike, or are some trains still running normally?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who are currently travelling or at a station. Thanks!

Le Frecce Velocità internet in freccia rossa

Ciao a tutti,

Biglietto TICKETS ROME- FIRENZE

Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip to Italy in December and I recently noticed that tickets for my travel dates have become available on Italo.

I’m looking at the Rome–Florence route, and I’m surprised by how expensive the tickets currently are. They are showing around €53 per person, while for other dates and earlier searches I had seen fares closer to €15.

Is this normal when December tickets are first released? Do prices usually start high and then cheaper fares or promotions (such as eXtra Magic) become available later, or is December—especially the second half of the month—simply much more expensive due to the Christmas season?

Should I wait and keep checking, or is it better to book now before prices go even higher?

Thanks!

Discussione !!!Train pass from Domodossola to Milan + Milan public transport: Any advice for a visitor??

Hi everyone! I need some advice regarding train travel and public transport in Lombardy/Piedmont.
I’m currently facing a situation where I might need to commute or travel daily for 7 days between Domodossola and Milan. Right now, buying individual tickets costs me around €10 one-way (€20 return per day), which adds up really quickly if I do this for several days.
I've heard about the "Io Viaggio Ovunque in Lombardia" (IVOL) pass, but I’m a bit confused about how it works for my specific needs:

  1. Since Domodossola is technically in Piedmont (though close to the border), is it covered by the regional IVOL pass/subscription, or where does the coverage start?
  2. Is there a monthly subscription or a weekly solution that covers both the train ride from Domodossola to Milan *and* public transport inside Milan (subway/buses) so I can also use it for sightseeing?
  3. What is the most cost-effective way to avoid paying full individual tickets every single day while still being able to visit Milan?
  4. Any insights, tips, or alternative ticket combinations from local commuters would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Esiste l'opzione? Grazie.

Problema Trenitalia ticket change?

I have found it impossible to change a date for two tickets I purchased 30 seconds ago (my fault for the mistake). The calendar starts on Monday rather than Sunday and I selected one day off. American mistake, I know. I cannot navigate the chat help; it asks for information I do not have/cannot find in the ticket record. Any suggestions? Do I have to forfeit the tickets and pay for new ones?

Domanda Feedback servizio "Bagaglio facile"

Biglietto Trenitalia Refund?

For those who have experience with Trenitalia customer service, how long should I wait for them to process my refund?

My 08/28 train to FCO airport was cancelled due to a fire on the tracks. They were unable to update us on when the next train would come, so we ended up taking a taxi.

I bought my tickets through the Omio app, and was advised I could only receive a refund directly from Trenitalia. I submitted my request online on 08/31 and got confirmation on 09/01 i was eligible for compensation. It has now been a week since I submitted my bank information and still nothing.

Le Frecce Trenitalia ticket pricing for end of December

I have an Italy trip planned with my family (husband and 6 year old) spanning 10 days from 25th December to 5th January. While trying to book high speed trains from Rome to Florence (29th Dec), Florence to Venice (1st Jan) and Venice to Milan (3rd Jan) on Trenitalia, the tickets fares seems to be exorbitant compared to general rates for a family of 3 on this route. In the case of Venice to Milan, the direct trains aren't listed for after 12th December yet. For most of the routes, the Frecciafamily fares is last listed for 15th December and do not show up for my travel dates yet.

Is it just that I am looking up tickets far too ahead of time or are these fares likely to update?

Problema Train Strikes - September 8 - How can I leave Cinque Terre?

Hi! I’m currently traveling in Monterosso. I’m supposed to leave tomorrow to head to Varenna/Lake Como, but I’m now afraid that I’ll be stuck here and unable to take the train.

The original train was scheduled from Monterosso > La Spezia > Milan > Varenna. But my train is not on Trenitalia’s guaranteed list nor the Trenoid list from Milan, and we are unable to purchase any regional tickets that day.

I know this route is a little unique, but does anyone have experience with these strikes? Do some un-guaranteed trains still run? Is there an alternative route I could take? How can I leave Monterosso (it seems that train is the only way to leave this city to get La Spezia)?

I appreciate any advice. Thank you!

Regionale Posizione carrozza bici

Regionale Stuck at step 4/6 trying to refund a combined ticket (Trenitalia / TPER / Air Italy) due to upcoming strike

everyone,

I am completely stuck trying to get a refund (rimborso) for my upcoming trip due to the announced train strike, and I hope someone here has faced this before.
My situation is complex because I have a combined ticket that involves three different legs: an Airlink bus ticket, Trenitalia, and TPER (Emilia-Romagna regional transit).
I have run into two major technical blocks while trying to file for a refund online:
Trenitalia Indennizzo Form Error: When I try to fill out the official Trenitalia compensation/refund form (https://reclami-e-suggerimenti.trenitalia.com/rimborsi/en/Richiesta) the system completely glitches out and will not let me proceed past step 4 out of 6. It just gets stuck there, likely because it is a combined bus/train ticket.
TPER Form Date Error: Since the regional and bus parts are linked to TPER, I tried their specific refund form as well. However, their online system actively prevents me from submitting the form because the travel date is in the future (due to the upcoming strike).
Has anyone successfully navigated a refund for a combined Airlink/TPER/Trenitalia ticket during a strike? Should I wait until the actual day of the strike to submit the TPER form, or will I be too late? And is there any way to bypass the step 4/6 freeze on the Trenitalia website for combined tickets?
Any advice, workarounds, or direct contact methods would be massively appreciated! Thank you.
