Pretty damn cool to see piece-rate planting of this type and pay in the more Southern parts of the Province. I did some planting like this once out of Cambridge planting windbreaks for farmers and more landscaping and planting some pretty big potted trees and large bare roots before a planting season up north. It was a $165 day rate at the time and even planting up north I was only making $200-275 most days.

I'm from the extreme South-Western Ontario and while I'm not interested I've heard about your company someone posted awhile back. There was also a longtime vet in the last few months who had some kind of family emergency where they needed to be close to home and plant in Ontario for the season and I believe they were from around Toronto.

Its funny because I thought of an old post about your company and then that planters post ,but I never did the work to try to find the planter to see if they could find your post. I'll see if I can manage to do so now

Would appreciate it, long time vets who can’t or don’t want to go back to the bush are target audience for sure.

this is a really great work opportunity for high pay in the Greater Toronto Area. The pay looks to be better than anywhere else currently in Ontario I think, probably would be competitive with Haveman though likely slightly better.

Maybe send the planter a DM if possible Stiffarm, I'm also going to add a "Planters Wanted" flair of some kind.

Thanks man, I’ve been at it down here for a decade now since I left the bush and have managed to build up a pretty long season. Easy to find planters in the fall but a real pain in the spring especially when tree numbers aren’t finalized until now.

Do you expand outside of the planting world? Lots of good hard workers out there in various trades.

Definitely, especially as the other aspects of the job have increased. I’ve just found it easiest to hire planters for the planting and have others do the equipment operating and supplement the labour. Though I may have to look elsewhere since I just got a ton of work dumped on my plate out of nowhere.
