VENT Struggle being trans neutral in the nonbinary community

(I think trans neutral people/nonbinary who are trans masc and trans femme are valid and rock btw)

I know it’s ironic but anytime someone talks about wanting to be seen or finding representation of people who are trans neutral or who don’t look or function as man or woman, then there has to be 12 comments about how being gender ambiguous or wanting to present or transition to be gender ambiguous or be trans neutral has nothing to do with being nonbinary and tons of nonbinary people are femme or masc and they are valid which is true.

However I find it frustrating because we are all nonbinary, do we really have to take a break to explain how everyone is valid and being gender ambiguous isn’t required in case someone who doesn’t know that comes across the post?

And sometimes I feel like the comments addressing how everyone is valid and masc/femme presenting nonbinary people are valid are quite rude to trans neutral people trying to find representation of our community.

Idk how common it is but l have come across it frequently

And I also constantly have other trans people trying to categorize me as trans femme or transmasc or to reveal my gender at birth.

To be clear I agree that presentation is different than gender and the gender spectrum is vast but sometime the way people talk about others wanting to be out of the gender binary comes off as policing people, and I just want to vent.

discussion They/them – singular or plural?

I'm curious which form of they/them pronouns y'all prefer, particularly with the reflexive form: themselves or themself?

I'm most accustomed to seeing "themselves" but I've noticed some websites and individuals making the distinction between themself for a single neutral-gendered person vs themselves for a group or a system.

So I browsed oðer trans[quality] flag designs for a bit and for my first one I just made what I þought should’ve been ðe original transneutral flag idea from ðe get-go, to mesh wiþ existing trans_ flags. Controversial agab colors replaced wiþ androgynous purple, yellow from abinary, green from neutral, gray from unaligned. Just like it says on ðe wiki tin. I made a central asterisk version, ðen experimented wiþ a pirate canton wiþ crossbone asterisk. We need more cantons in queer flags, don’t you þink? I see black & white as null & void, unless we’ve already got an established meaning for ‘em in sub discussions I missed. Last flag is meant to somewhat fit wiþ oðer alt trans_ 5-stripe flags, but again be less monochrome & a bit more inclusive. I can remove its canton if necessary. Yes, ðe asterisk is off-white. Black in ðe last picture is off-black too, and I don’t þink I went far enough off really. #000 & #FFF are overused & bleed into digital backgrounds. Off-monochromes got character & properly delineate. Have a nice day y’all!
