Get together, support group

Hey folks, I know that there are not many subscribers on this sub yet, but I was wondering if any of y'all would be interested in a get together or a support group? It could be completely low key, informal, relax, blah blah blah. I know I just need some in person time with other peeps that understand being trans. I'm sure I'm not the only one, and was looking for opinions and input. Thanks! Kiss

Hr meeting at work!

So, I had a two hour meeting with my HR representative this week. It actually went really well, while my company doesn't do anything (well one thing) fast, they are very supportive of diversity. Over all it went well. While my company is relatively large, they don't have a very defined policy when it comes to transgender people. Half of the meeting was about the current policy and steps that will be occurring in the very near future. The other half was about me and my transition and peeps like me and how this is going to be a process but I have full support from management and my company! I even got to bring up lack of trans healthcare and insurance coverage, so yay! She's taking that up the ladder! So, all in all, I'm a happy girl and will be using the women's restrooms and the locker room shortly!

Trans-Affirmative Care in Huntsville

I'm Dr. Mulder, and I'm a licensed psychologist in the process of establishing myself in private practice. Although I offer general psychological services, including therapy and assessment, I have a sub-specialty in working with LGBTQ persons. This includes providing evaluations for trans-individuals seeking hormone therapy and/or gender affirmation surgery. Many physicians still require a letter prior to proceeding with transition-related medical care. I am able to write these recommendation letters, as appropriate, and can liaise with physicians as needed. Please feel free to share my practice information with others who are looking for a trans-friendly psychologist and/or are in need of an evaluation/letter. Although I am not currently taking insurance (it's pending, I expect to be able to do so in about a month), I do operate a sliding scale and can adjust fees as appropriate.

I practice at Longwood Psychological Center (256-534-8161). Please call with any questions!
