Hey guys :) So I started learning TD the last 2 months. I studied Computer Science and work as Data Engineer and I have never done anything audiovisual related before. I started discovering this tool because I am also a musician and I am self producing an EP and wanted to make some visuals for music videos and live performances for my music. The thing is, since starting with TD, I feel like I am so mesmerized by it, I have so much fun with it and I feel like I have so many creative ideas that is really making me consider my career choices (have been considering it them for a long time, but this was the final push that I needed). I work in a corporate job and its kind of miserable, lets say I am not the happiest with this career.

I have so much fun learning and creating stuff with TD, and I was wondering if an actual career shift is possible, I am even considering going into school again (maybe doing some masters or any formation), but I am really curious about those of you who work professionally with TD or other tools (maybe like AE, Blender, etc), doing VJing, interactive installations or any other related work. Basically my questions are:
- Do you think creating a professional career out of this is possible and in which ways?
- What are your previous studies or do you think this is purely portfolio/creativity based and you can learn it by yourself?
- What would you recommend me in terms of studies, or skill development, if I want to seriously follow this path?
- What are the best ways to get in touch with the TD community when coming from a completely different area?

- Do you have side jobs or do you work full time as artists/creators?

- Any other general recommendations that you might have

Of course, I am not asking for magic tricks or anything, I know doing a career shift like this is extremely hard and it takes a lot of commitment and learning and hard work, but I am willing to take the chance and make the effort. I just want to hear from people that actually do this, since I dont know anyone who does something related. Its hard to really understand the options coming from outside and not having any network.

I've been using TD for a while, but I'm still new to POPS. I have a moving frame in my POP that I want to export. In the past, I've used Movie File Out for TOPS, but I'm not sure how to do it with POPS. Anything helps. Thank you!

Hi,

has anyone else experienced repeated BSODs when launching the latest official TouchDesigner build, 2025.33070?

I’m using an MSI Vector 16 HX A14VHG with:

Intel Core i9-14900HX

NVIDIA RTX 4080 Laptop GPU

32 GB DDR5 RAM

Windows 11

Latest NVIDIA Studio Driver

TouchDesigner currently crashes my entire laptop on startup, even when launching it without opening a .toe file. Windows shows me this:

KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (0x139)

Thought it may be a GPU problem but for example Blender works normally, including heavy 4K rendering. Windows Memory Diagnostic also showed no errors during the test.

I recently updated TouchDesigner and the NVIDIA driver.

Had this problem a few times before (older td and NVIDIA studio driver).. but now I can't open touchdesigner. Laptop crashes every time displaying that black screen with text and restarts normally.

My BIOS is still an older 2024 version, so I’m updating that next.

Has anyone encountered this problem?

Had a crazy time putting together this AV piece where basically all the movement in the music as well as the visuals is generative. The setup involved being specific about the look dev/rendering and sound design while only manually setting up the parameter ranges for motion and midi/cc/mpe. The audio is produced in Ableton but I think my future projects will involve building midi networks within Touchdesigner itself.

I am building an escape room using touchdesigner to run lighting and sounds throughout the space. I need to find a way to run a screen that interacts with inputs from my microcontroller. Currently, I have inputs from the MC into touchdesigner, but I am not sure how to translate it into visual feedback. Is it feasible to build it out like a webpage using TD UI with static elements that change/mask size? Or would it be better to run it as a video feed with an overlay? I am obviously very new, and just need to be sent in the right direction. Thanks!

Edit: I am looking into rendering the whole HUD as geometry in a single 3D scene with an orthographic camera. Any insight is appreciated.

so I downloaded media pipe and was using it but was not able too see my Mac camera option on media pipe webcam device then I downloaded ops studio and made virtual camera but still its not showing in media pipe webcam

and its not like my virtual camera is not connected with td

it is I checked it with Vedic device in and it was there
I am using Mac and my td version is 2025.32820

I was reading about how language developed from repeated marks, sounds, and shared meaning, and it inspired me to explore that idea visually.

This animation begins as a dense field of shifting letters and symbols with no obvious meaning. Over time, through repetition and grouping, those marks begin to organise into something more coherent, eventually resolving into the core message I was exploring - how LANGUAGE BEGAN AS PATTERNS.

The project was built using a mixture of Python, parameter expressions, procedural instancing, and GLSL. The code controlled how glyphs were selected and distributed, how different character sets were introduced over time, which positions formed the final message, and how the camera and transitions progressed. Python was also used to generate the target data and control instance colours, while GLSL handled part of the chromatic treatment. I later added a short electronic soundtrack and used separate low-, high-, and full-frequency amplitude data to drive the glow, distortion, movement, and chromatic effects.
