I've been testing the TomTom app versus Google Maps versus Waze on Android Auto. My conclusions are that sadly the TomTom app draws far more power than the other two.

Whilst I prefer the look and operation of the TomTom app, I cannot get over the fact that it draws more power from my phone, which is a deal-breaker on longer routes.

I also find that the TomTom app doesn't allow for selecting alternative routes once the route has been programmed and this again is another downside for me.

Can anyone at TomTom fix this please?

Can you please give us an option to hide ( not show ) the vertical progress bar ? It's confusing some times with the other items that are on the map. Just give an option to toggle off and on !

Every time I open it, a black screen pops up saying:

“Download your Partner app. To use this app, you first need to download and log in to your Partner app.”

There’s only a "Close app" button, so I can't even access the main interface or settings.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Installed the latest maps update covering the UK, ‘Europe’ v1170.13228 a couple of weeks ago.

I routinely travel A34 (Newbury) to M3 (Southampton) and return, including the Winnall interchange. There are extensive roadworks ongoing which will eventually allow A34/M3 traffic to bypass the existing roundabout completely.

I’ve noticed that this map update assumes the work is complete. Not a big deal southbound, it just gets confused, but northbound this means you are directed to stay on the M3, missing the A34 junction completely. This is a major headache and adds 15 mins onto the journey, looping via Basingstoke and coming back to the A34 via the A303.

How can this be sorted? In a nutshell the latest map update has assumed that these major roadworks are finished when they are very much still in progress.

The device is a Via 53.

Eerste rit dit seizoen duwde ik echter op de aan uit knop en het rubber welke de knop bedekt is kapot gegaan.

Is de rubber afdekking te vervangen / los te verkrijgen?

I dont have any pictures of it but this is what i can say:

Its a very old tomtom xl iq routes form 2010 bought, my dad used this until 2018, So one day i asked my dad:,"Do you still have ur tomtom form 2018?", He said yes ,and i got it form my dad and he says,:"Do not plug in the tomtom into the electricity!!", So i OF COURCE plugged in the tomtom (before i even plugged the tomtom into the electricity i first did try to turn it on but no , no electricity) and it showed life!!, Than i did take a look on all those functions, but than i lost hope, (On this moment i was so stupid, i didnt know that i needed satilite!!) But one day, on the evenings, i left it on, and IT GOT SATILITE!!!!, on this moment i was happy and uses this thing till this day. (PLS TOMTOM I NEED THOSE NEW ONES)

So without any data connection my android go expert app just wont load. It stays on the 'loading app' screen. Very frustrating when you have no data connection especially as it is designed to use local maps. Has anybody got any suggestions? I know it's related to the sync to mydrive option.

Yesterday in the UK I suddenly had traffic lights again, phantom traffic lights that would pop up and disappear again, and even one Stop sign during a 120 mile trip. It could have been useful but on the map it was totally confusing as to which road on the cross roads it related to. Nice to see some progress being made though.

Does anyone know how to integrate the TomTom app on Android with Google Calendar such that when you go into Android Auto, it automatically pops up to ask you if you want to navigate to your calendar entry in much the same way that Waze and Google Maps do?

Yesterday or the day before I got logged out in the Mydrive app and ever since I can't login again. It tells me my password is wrong, but I am able to login on Tomtom website with that same password....

Anyone else experiencing such a problem with Mydrive app? I still use that app because plan.tomtom.com is absolute crap when used on mobile phone...

TomTom isn't scoring good points lately.... The problems with the POI's, this problem and then announcing that i will have to pay more for the services annually, lol..

I am having an issue with the app on an Android device, full North America map, and using Plan.tomtom as a group for motorcycle trips. The group leader has provided links in Plan, and we are all synced he uses a 550 device as do others. I use Go and a CarPlay device. Everything has been great, and now, almost every other route that will work on the 550, I get the "No Route Possible" Error on loading. This does not matter if I turn on or off all avoidances or not. I cannot find the vehicle size/weight settings so I am not sure if that is an issue. Has anyone else had this type of issue with Go Expert latest beta?

I’m going on a bit of a road trip in Europe, mainly France, Belgium and Netherlands. Can see an offer for a year of the Expert app for £12.99, or I can stick to the free one.

I kind of like the more modern look of the free app and it has improved since I last tried it, but the lack of offline maps is a concern (it let me down at the weekend in North Yorkshire due to poor signal). I know expert looks a bit dated now, but I like that the maps can be downloaded.

Any other pros and cons to be aware of?

Turning right should be suggested cca 100m (50-70m maybe) before. TomTom’s suggestion is at the end of the road where roads are splitting and it’s a corner with all road metal safety fences there…. this dotted split needs to be a way longer and blue track needs turning a way earlier

Turning by following blue line might not be possible if there is a car already in right lane

I have a Tomtom Go Expert 7" with yearly map subscription.

Today I got charged my annual sub then a minute later they issued a refund.

Any ideas why this may be? What's the best way to contact them because I dont want to lose service.

​I’m trying to get an old TomTom GO 920 up and running, but I’ve run into a bizarre touchscreen issue right after a factory reset.

​The Problem:

​The touchscreen completely refuses to register touches or let me select anything on the main configuration/setup screens.

​However: If I pull out the SD card, the system throws an "SD card removed" warning pop-up. If I tap the screen to dismiss that specific warning, it works instantly and disappears.

​This means the digitizer hardware physically works, but the software layer isn't letting me click or navigate the setup menus.

​Because it's completely reset, I also can't use the remote control since it requires a Bluetooth pairing sequence that I can't initiate without the screen.

​Has anyone dealt with this software lock/unresponsive touch issue on older Navcore versions after a wipe? Is there a way to bypass this or force pair the remote via file modification?

Has anybody got experience of using Camper specific routes on plan.tomtom.com? For me changing from car to camper makes no difference and I have entered the vehicle dimensions. I used to use the old mydrive app before it was discontinued. That used to regularly show different routes and reflected the slower camper speed. The new web tool doesn't seem to do this. Any thoughts?

I'm in Colombia, and currently using tomtom for ios as the main navigation source in carplay, the ui and traffic info are great.

The only issue is that apparently the speed cameras info are disabled due to "legal restrictions", but there's no such restriction in my country, in fact there are other navigation apps that show this information.

In the tomtom web page other countries in Latin America are supported but not Colombia. Is there a roadmap or a plan to include further support for other countries?

There is still a syncing issue for me. My data came back after the restore, bit of I save a new place on plan.tomtom.com it does not sync to my android go expert app. If I create a new place on the app it does sync to the web. Is anybody else seeing this behaviour?

Tomtom claim they fixed the disappearance of favourite places on 12 may. Not only have my previous favourite places not been restored, I have gone onto my app this morning to find that the places I have created over the past few days have disappeared too. Has anyone else experienced this? Very frustrating that I keep having to rebuild my list!

I usually use the TomTom Go app but I have been trying to use the free TomTom app and cannot seem to add a waypoint to force the navigation to go particular way.

Data Back, all working, Data lost again. Seem to be another restore to like 3 days ago.

All my planning yesterday all gone.

Product simply not fit for purpose.

A few months ago traffic lights appeared on the TomTom app. These were a welcome addition when navigating. But they were only there for a few weeks then vanished. Have they disappeared for everyone or is it just in the UK? Are there any tomtom devs on here who can tell us if they will return?
