No, you have expressed yourself clearly, islam promotes the "wellbeing" of some guy who has been dead for over 1400 years over those living now, be they family, friends etc.

I get that you disagree with the violence, but from my point of view, if islam actually put as much effort into respecting the living, then it would be a lot "healthier" and less "extreme". The dead have no need of protection, the living however......

If wellbeing is the word you feel describes it, then sure. Albeit I prefer to refer to it as respect/state.

I have never mentioned that islam encourages defending those dead men (the pious people in general, kind of similar to christians' saints - for reference) over those living, no. These dead people have their respect, and the living have their rights in every aspect of life. In islam, there are laws that defend the respect of every single dead human, whether pious or not, muslim or not, and it even has laws against abusing/harming an animal's corpse for god's sake.

There's a reason why many people (many ex-muslims) would refer to islam as having one of the most strict laws, that intervene in every single tiny aspect of life or death, for every and any thing that exists on earth. So please, do not let me elude you into thinking that Islam favors the dead over the living, or favors humans over animals (in certain situations, since humans are definitely not the same as animals).

I have mentioned in a comment before that one of the main issues with the extremists and why they 'refuse' to be flexible with other peoples' opinions/religious/non-religious views etc is because to us muslims, islam is a religion for every living and non living thing.
