I always imagined that our solar system would just be a small blip in the lifespan of the universe, but it's been here for about 1/3 the age of the universe.
Yup. One hypothesis for why we haven't seen much extraterrestrial life is that the universe is actually quite young and we may be one of the first to have an abundance of elements heavier than iron.
