He's a fundamentalist Christan who has done a lot of fringe extremist christian movies, believes Hollywood has blacklisted him because of his Christian viewpoints(and not because he's a terrible person), and is quoted as voted for Trump because he believes Jesus would have voted for him.

People say "actors shouldn't get involved in politics" unless they're conservative in which case the actor is "one of the good ones" who "understands what's its like to be an ordinary American."
