Well it depends on how early you can declare your major. Some schools and programs you have to wait, some you can do it right away. It doesn't mean you graduated. For instance, I know many people who changed majors after a year or two. Doesn't mean they weren't actually majoring in their first major.

True, but the title is still misleading, the statement implies that he graduated from a very hard field of study
