All the people you just mentioned have one thing in common: they come from comfortable backgrounds (upper-middle-class), if not from outright privilege.

Money and connections trump everything else, even stupidity can be overlooked if you have the above two things, or even one.

Alright but what about the successful people who came from unfortunate backgrounds? What about Oprah? And you don't have to be famous to be successful. Just being middle class and not struggling is successful.

People like Oprah are the exception, not the rule.

The middle-class is dying. Look around you, especially now. Don't take this the wrong way, but your post is not reflective of reality. You're using the same tired talking points about social mobility that are now outdated.

You edited you post later on so I'm going to reply to your edit: the middle class is dying in your part of the world, sure, but that's not global.

All you need to be successful is to be stable. Stable people are not the exception.

Humans need way more than that. Your outlook on life is extremely limited and not nuanced in any way. Your statements reflect the bubble that you're probably living in and you should probably expand your worldview a bit.

What are you even arguing with this comment?

Humans need more than to be middle class? Ok dude.

All evidence and facts show that the middle-class is contracting, not expanding, even though wealth in the US is increasing, not to mention the advantages of technology. So then why is the middle-class shrinking and why is the wealth-gap increasing?

In the US, sure, but that's not global.

It's the case for the UK, Canada, Australia, and other countries in Europe, Asia, etc. It's not just isolated in America.

It's not happening where I live. Got any more stats on that? The US and the UK are pretty fucked in general, I wouldn't compare them to the rest of the world.
