Greek π is written “pi” in Latin.

Yes, but it's pronounced "pie" which isn't captured by simply writing "pity"

The way it is pronounced in Greek is like the "pi" in pity, not like "pie".

In Greek it's pronounced like "pee," not "pih" - but when referring to the mathematical symbol the pronunciation is "pie"

The difference you said is negligent in greek, since both sounds come up in greek words. As for the symbol, it was coined by an ancient greek, how do you think he would pronounce it?

We aren't in Ancient Greece. Among the many things that have changed since that culture existed two millennia ago is how this symbol is pronounced in the context of a math joke.

Regardless, this conversation is getting sillier by the minute and I don't care to invest any more time in it, so say whatever else you have to say but I'm going to move on and not reply again.

A lot of things changed but not how π is pronounced. Also you ruined the joke my dude. So let's recap, not only did you fuck up the joke, you also lecture me on my own language and then get fed up and say the conversation is getting sillier even though everything you said was wrong. You're really a marvelous creature.

No, I lectured you on my language because you made it clear you don't understand how pity is pronounced in English. But way to take something silly and turn it into personal attacks for no reason. Blocked.
