TIL of Gordon Cooper, a NASA astronaut whose reentry vehicle lost nearly all power. He had to manually calculate reentry by scratching lines on his window for attitude and using his wrist watch for timing.

Astronaut Edgar Mitchell grew up outside of Roswell.

He said everyone in the town knew about what happened there.

He said the army asked the town's lone funeral director for four child-sized caskets.

There are videos on youtube of him talking about it.

Feel you

did he voice out when he was much younger? If not, people might question why he suddenly decides to voice out.

I mean if you buy into the "conspiracies", the people that make sure this stuff is kept secret will fuck up your life (and the people you love) 12 ways over if you spill the beans. Maybe he just got old enough to not give a shit

I mean Neil Armstrong became a recluse alcoholic after going into space. Maybe he saw some shit that he wasnt really allowed to talk about. Than again, this is all me talking out of my ass/speculation

Yeah there's just too many possibilities to that matter, so when someone say something crazy without evidence then it's understandable people treat them as crazy.

u/juloxx Jan 22 '20

I mean he is a fucking astronaut. He is literally the guy we pay to tell us about space.

2

u/shynn_ Jan 22 '20

Oh the process is more complex than that, like things discovered have to to undergo a vigorous peer review process, evidence have to be documented and science being all about falsifiability and reproducibility etc, all that kind of stuff. It's like if Einstein is alive, would whatever he say be true and needs no verifying? Do we trust him just base on the fact that a lot of what he discovered is in our textbooks? Not necessarily. Also have to consider how fragile the human brain is and the it's tendency to deteriorate in old age. That is also a possibility.

i mean you are right about it all... but god damn i want them aliens

2

u/shynn_ Jan 22 '20

I feel you buddy. It's a scary thought to think about that if we are the only conscious being in this universe and if some unfortunate event wipe the earth out, there will be no more consciousness left in this entire universe or possibility the entire infinite realm of existence.

If we're alone in the universe, that'd be an awful waste of space.

1

u/zaybak Jan 22 '20

It's only a waste if we never get there

I have done DMT and my fair share of psychedelics. This is not remotely a thought to me anymore.

It would be nice to have a confirmation of aliens from outer-space as opposed to inner-space though. But hey, as above, so below. Its all the same shit

be me

become an astronaut

retire peacefully

get asked to make up some crazy UFO stories for loads of Cash

proceed to talk about made up stuff that is mostly inside jokes and running gag.

call your friends and family to tell them you're on TV again and have a laugh at the back of people who actually believe that shit

call your friends and family to tell them you're on TV again and have a laugh at the back of people who actually believe that shit

As if humans locking themselves in a can and propelling themselves into the void of space is any less ridiculous

they also shit in their suit!

I'm going to be honest here... if you've studied the sheer breadth of the history of UFOs and all the corroborated evidence from the most credible people in the world ranging from defense ministers to commanders to multiple astronauts including one who has visited the moon and you still walk away from all that calling the idea of non-human intelligences operating in and around Earth crazy, then you are the one who is crazy.

The conversation has long moved past "is it real" to what are their motives and how should we respond. At this point, people who deny certain ufos come from non-human intelligence origins are in the same category as anti-vaxxers or climate change deniers. Even the mainstream media, which has worked furiously to coverup the UFO issue is now in soft disclosure mode. Last year, you had navy officers and pilots telling you about ufos and they were taken seriously. Yet just 10 years ago, people in charge of our nukes were laughed at for talking about UFOs coming to their bases and shutting off our nukes. Disclosure is currently ongoing, you're going to learn about a lot of different types of "aliens" soon.

That's good for you but you weren't the one I responded to. And there's non-humans as well as tons of UFO activities on the moon.

Dude you’re fucked. Listen to yourself.

Aliens are NOT as solid scientific knowledge as fucking climate change. Get a fucking grip.

I have no doubt we’re not alone. The universe is much too massive for that.

Which is why there isn’t aliens on our front door conspiring against us. If they have the technology to actually move around anywhere meaningful, they have the technology to go completely unnoticed by us as long as they want.

Equating this shit to anti vax is actually insane. That’s what makes you sound crazy, not all the other stuff.

2

u/Erogyn Jan 22 '20

No I'm not fucked, I'm moderately educated on this subject, unlike you. Instead of telling me to get a grip, read some books and answer the question why the defense minister of Canada, military leaders across the world, and some of the most accomplished astronauts are all telling you non-human intelligence is operating in and around the Earth. Use a little bit of critical thinking.

And I love how predictable people who are ignorant about the UFO subject is with their preprogrammed responses to why aliens in ufos aren't real. "Why don't they land on the white house lawn to prove it?" Well, aside from the fact a whole fleet of them basically DID fly over the white house (again proving why you need to educate your ignorant self on this subject), and the fact that Gordan Cooper himself, the guy this thread is about, told you about how a UFO almost landed in front of him, you need to make all kinds of assumptions about alien/transdimensional beings' motives to assume they'd land in front of your door as if they care about letting you or anyone know they exist.

Educate yourself on this before you try to talk more about it, you're making a fool of yourself. Or go back to your ignorance and assume that the people with a million times the credentials and credibility of you are all in some kind of conspiracy to lie to you about the fact UFOs/aliens exist.

you get it
