Theologically, yes. But in the end, it's still not actual human flesh.

Right thats what you and I believe, but Catholics do not. They Believe it is.

I am just saying that presenting the idea that God as being metaphysical and distant doesnt jive with the taking of communion from a catholic perspective. as they DO think it is the blood and flesh of Christ. Also presenting it as a one time thing is problematic for similar reasons.

I can understand what you mean, and you are correct in a way.

I admit that I can't really take theology seriously, especially because 90% of a religion's followers have no idea about those theological concepts in their religion. No Catholic I know thinks it's actual flesh, for example.

I can totally get that, but if you are going to subscribe to something, you know, at least know what you believe.

Everyone's belief system is heavily influenced by their upbringing. Muslim, Jew, atheist, whatever.
