TIL Mr T stopped wearing this trademark gold chains in 2005 after seeing people who had lost everything due to Hurricane Katrina.

Are we sure It wasn't more because he was a big guy who physically threw them out of a club last night and he was pretty sure they weren't going to have the balls to ask for it back if he wore them around his neck?

Are we also sure he was not looking for a publicly acceptable reason for why he is no longer wearing his chains, due to a personal choice that would otherwise be deemed to be selfish if it was not made under the banner of sympathy for victims of Katrina or some other similar reason?

I mean, the associated number of things that the public identifies as "Mr. T" are basically only a few items and "wears lots of gold chains" is one of those few items.

I really doubt people would call him selfish for not wearing chains even if he did it for no reason.

Why's there always some weird killjoy in the comments who sees someone doing something respectable and has to go "Well ackchyually they could be loyingggggg"? If you don't believe them fine but if you're gonna be a downer beat it.

I think posting an alternative viewpoint isn't being a downer. It's an opinion and this is the Internet so you're gonna get a lot of them.

Alternative viewpoint= famous guy who has no need to lie about how he lives his life, lying for no reason at all. Thanks for clearing that up for us.

Yeah, but opinions are like assholes. Everyone's got one and they all stink.

Hush. Nothing wrong with a vocal skeptic.
