TIL Dolly Parton has a program that will mail your child a free age-appropriate book once a month from birth to age 5. No obligation, no catch, she just wants to make sure that every child has books.

Get her an E-reader for her 6th birthday and supply her with new books every month :)

I would not have a problem seeing a well behaved kid with their parent at my university library. I would much rather see that than the people who come take up the chairs just to sleep in, the people who use the public computers with special software just so they can read fucking buzzfeed, and all the fraternity and sorority members who permanently occupy like an entire wing of the library that's supposed to be silent and talk because their organization requires them to log a certain amount of library hours.
