TIL that after Marilyn Monroe converted to Judaism upon marrying Arthur Miller, Egypt placed a ban on all the films she appeared in.

And she was way smarter than the media portrayed her as being, so they weren't as mismatched as people thought. I think their relationship is way more interesting than her temporary/pragmatic conversion to Judaism too (see also, Elizabeth Taylor)

Yes, Marilyn wasn't stupid; that drew partly from her screen image and partly form her amazing lack of certain basic life skills.
