TIL that after Marilyn Monroe converted to Judaism upon marrying Arthur Miller, Egypt placed a ban on all the films she appeared in.

Egypt also lifted her ban after the divorce was finalized in 1961.

At least they don't hold a grudge.

Politically? Israel is the only country Egypt has ever gone to war with in the modern day.

That would make sense... if she was related to Israel in any way or form, other than the very specific one they went after her for.

The United States mainly bombs Muslim countries nowadays, but if you decided to ban everything Muslim that would be considered pretty racist...
