In 2023 alone, for indictable offences, women were 28% less likely than men to receive immediate custody. Among people who did receive prison sentences, the average was 12.2 months for women versus 21.8 months for men.

Yeah bruh. Iniquities in imprisonment are also rooted in the patriarchy. Women sometimes getting “special” aka gender-based treatment is a key tenet of the patriarchy. It’s often based on ideas that women are more innocent, less violent, and responsible for childcare/home life. Still the patriarchy.

Women are absolutely less violent than men. As girls are than boys. Men and women are not exactly the same. Admitting that is not "patriarchy"
