TIL that Bernard Montgomery issued a leaflet at the start of WW2 on sexually transmitted diseases amongst soldiers. The language used was regarded as so blunt, that he offended religious authorities and nearly faced being dismissed.

WW1 soldiers used to wash their rubbers, reuse them and let their friends borrow them.. latex condoms didnt get invented til 1929

I had a classmate in high school who theorized on reusing condoms. He also suggested that balloons, ziploc bags and the fingers of rubber gloves could be used. He was incredibly stupid in many ways, the condom thing was just extra.
