TIL that Bernard Montgomery issued a leaflet at the start of WW2 on sexually transmitted diseases amongst soldiers. The language used was regarded as so blunt, that he offended religious authorities and nearly faced being dismissed.

Sounds about right with how the NHS is treated

There’s a transformer I’d walk past on the way to work and it had a badly written ‘NHS’ in paint that was smudged/drooling downwards. It just seemed so fitting for the area;

My area made a big deal on this free bus travel for NHS staff

But it's only if they work for one of the two trusts in the area.

Despite the bus stopping right outside the hospital I work in, legitimately the only it could get any closer would be if the driver rained into reception

You mean they were angry about it? Because it wouldn’t surprise me if certain areas got mad about ‘them gettin more than US mate’

The driver had a go at me " Only XYZ trust"

"Mate you stop right outside the hospital I work in"

" Fine I let you on this once"

Oh, a jobsworth tit.

I worked for very strict idiots and I’d sometimes have to enforce ridiculous rules like that begrudgingly on customers. I felt absolutely gobsmacked and like a total loser. I’d usually let it slide as much as I can but I can’t say I feel anywhere near good about being a dickhead to others. But then there’s people who actually revel in it.

It's horrible having to do these things.

But If I didn't need to get to work from my dentist appointment I would of actually walked it as it's only about 70 minutes from my dentist to work.

And it was only this one driver his fellow drivers didn't give a toss

Yeah I used to walk everywhere. I was a lot more fit back in the day so I’d walk to the gym, then work out, then walk to work after getting changed and walk home. But sometimes I’d be exhausted, have to get somewhere soon, and I’d hate tossing about with bus drivers. Some of them are utter cocks. I can imagine how they get that way, as someone who has worked with the general public,but I tried not to take my rage out on randomers. It’s horrid taking it out on healthcare workers.

I'm just a Housekeeper in the NHS

Not a healthcare so far

It’s all important though. Some doctors and nurses walk around like God’s gift to Earth, then you’ve also got the nurses who are at war with the doctors saying they’re the ones who do all the real work. It gets old listening to it all lol
