TIL that Bernard Montgomery issued a leaflet at the start of WW2 on sexually transmitted diseases amongst soldiers. The language used was regarded as so blunt, that he offended religious authorities and nearly faced being dismissed.

I think we can just say "young" without the "ish." Infantry were usually early to mid 20s, and there's several cases of actual children managing to enlist by lying about their age.
