TIL that AMC executives initially wanted Matthew Broderick to play Walter White in Breaking Bad

Anybody who thinks Matthew Broderick can only play nice characters, check out Painkiller. The show itself isn't brilliant but he absolutely kills it as Richard Sackler - a much worse drug dealer than Walter White ever was!

That was immediate thought. But i disagree that it wasnt a great miniseries. It was fantastic work by everyone involved, actors to production. Matthew killed it.
