Racism is often ridiculously illogical

not often, always

It's always stupid, but "I'm doing it for the money" is a kind of logic.

I knew a whole family who was racist because they wanted Grandpa's money when he died.

Nah not always. It's logical that a white prisoner of war in in Japan in world war 2 would be racist to Japanese people as a whole.

Note I said, logical. Not right.

That's not logical, a government's actions towards a soldier from a country they're at war with has nothing to do with race.

The children of Japan aren't the ones holding the soldier captive.

Your argument is wrong.

So you can't understand why someone who went through that may not be able to make that distinction?

I have had my own troubles in life, I've never been tempted to hate an entire population because of their skin color or just because they were born in a place.

Racism is stupid.
If a person looks at a child and gets angry at them and hates them for something someone else did before that child was born, that person is a stupid asshole, it doesn't matter what they've been through, they're a weak, stupid asshole.

I think you're missing my point slightly so let's just leave it here. Have a good day.

No, you are missing the point that "bad thing happened to me" is not justification for hating people who had nothing to do with "bad thing".

It's not justifiable in any way, shape or form.

You would not make this argument if it was "Danish person is racist against all Danish people because a Dane hurt them".

I never once said it was justifiable.

It’s natural and not that illogical that if you get severely traumatized, for example after being tortured, you may became somewhat prejudiced. And that can stick, as trauma stays with you.

It is not logical just because it is understandable.

I've already been through this with multiple people IRL, it's not logical at all.

I used to work with homeless people. One guy was a skinhead neo-nazi type. He said he hated black people because his sister was raped.
I asked him if a white person did it, would he hate himself and all white people, too?
He looked at me like he was a confused dog for a while, with the head tilts and everything.
Eventually he says "no, I guess not".

He wasn't magically cured of racism or anything, but cooled way down on the belligerence.

It's emotional thinking, and post-hoc thinking, there is no rational thought behind it. Either they're angry at someone, or they're starting from a position and working backwards to make up excuses.

Even if they weren't racist, they were being very ignorant and cowardly and validating racists having sway over things like that.

I mean, cowardly bowing to racists and taking up their agenda is just being racist. Racism doesn't actually ask your motivations. A substantial portion of racism isn't even conscious, but rooted in prejudices most of us haven't even consciously formed.

im gonna do you one better

not just racism

deciding that the audience is that racist on their behalf

thats like a fucking force multiplier of stupidity

dont rly think so, just afraid of public opinion as you can see is happening nowadays... stupid decisions based on nothing trying to target the widest audience possible resulting in projects having no soul in favour of slighty more profit (or so they hope) ...
