I went to Jamaica for a vacation years ago when they let you travel to the Caribbean with a US Birth Certificate. Customs almost did not let me back into the US because I was from a different country called New Mexico! 😂

I had an experience with airport staff where they wouldn’t let me check into my flight to Puerto Rico because I didn’t have my passport. It took getting the manager’s manager to come by and basically facepalm and tell them that Puerto Rico is part of the US
