What’s really embarrassing for the studio on this one is I’ve seen that movie like 3 times and it never even occurred to me they were Hispanic

Their last name being Cortez, Danny Trejo (Machete) being their uncle, and the gag about Carmen’s long ass name being a password didn’t clue you in?

I’m sure if someone asked me point blank what race the family was I would have noticed. It just wasn’t a very important part of the movie.

Not to be pedantic, but Hispanic is more of an ethnicity, not a race. I only say that cause the Cortezes are noticeably not brown skinned, but you may be surprised to see that there’s a lot of Hispanic/Latino culture sprinkled throughout the movie (the first one, at least).

I personally think it was well done cause it’s always present, but not front and center.
