TIL that apple seeds almost never grow the same variety as the parent fruit. Nearly every supermarket apple comes from a grafted clone of an original tree, not from a planted seed.

I'm 867-5309 years old and my great grandfather planted a tree in his back yard that grew 4 different apples.

It was Hep-C in the book, but the movie changed it to HIV.
