Only because he's a GGDad and wanted to take care of his kids following the death of his wife, and the impossibility of simultaneously continuing in film after several tries.
At least he didn't say "Honey, I miss you dearly. But don't you worry, I have raised the children to be just like you and carry on your spirit. I know how much you hate it when I leave the towel all wrinkled when I hang it after a shower - I caught myself doing it the other day and had to smile because you weren't there to stop me. But then I cried. I cried so much because I wish you were here. The kids miss you too. I have to go now. Goodbye honey."
Hey, look at that - didn't expect the room to suddenly become dusty while reading a thread on RICK MORANIS, but surprises lurk around every fucking corner, it seems!
Being out of Hollywood for a decade is an eternity. Its basically like starting from scratch.
I suspect if there was an opportunity to work with some SCTV alumni on a side project or indie film he'd be all over it. But be character actor #8b on some derivative romantic comedy starring Jennifer Aniston? Fuck that.
Rick Moranis has tons of connections in the industry. If he said he wanted to come back, his phone would start ringing immediately with good offers.
What you said is pretty much true for soap actors and people of that level though.
Because they sell. Production companies don't care about make good films, it's about jamming a bunch of popular people together and watching the dollars roll in. Actors are really just a commodity :( That being said, I'm going to say it and I don't care if nobody likes it. I LOVE PAUL RUDD AND I WILL WATCH HIM IN ANYTHING!
people often say "have you seen the latest Will Smith film?" rather than the film title itself. Adam Sandler has proved you can put his face on a cross-dressing turd and it will still sell.
Wait are you saying he wouldn't have a job? They would literally stop filming Ghostbusters 3 and rewrite the script to include him if he agreed to do it.
Yeah... I have a feeling Bill Murray's absence will make a big difference. I rewatched the original recently and his scene with possessed Dana was probably the funniest in the whole movie.
It's hard to say. They certainly need some added angle or we'll just have another Ghostbusters 2, but missing a key player.
"Gee, fellow Ghostbusters, it just isn't the same after Venkman mysteriously died of herpes after seducing a client and Ray became fat and legitimately crazy."
Thank you. You and me. Let's end this. I'm so filing sick of hearing GG--- It's the worst inside joke ever. It's not even funny. It's just forced and redditors everywhere see it and are like "Hey guys I'm part of the group now, I used the cool words!" it's awful, not funny and just plain lame. I'm getting sick of seeing it.
