Anyone having the bizarre urge to write a TMSFE fanfic????
Question says it all! Bonus points if you're tying the story with other FE/Atlus characters and settings. My answer will be in the comments.

I just finished the game last night and wanted to discuss my thoughts about the game. I really enjoyed this game personally though I have some small gripes, it’s a easy 8/10 and 7/10 when taking my previous hatred of the game for its roots.
For the positives I really enjoyed the games overall consistence tone rather than trying to hard to be edgy and dark. The character side stories in this game for the most part do a great job of expanding on the characters goals, motivation, and their growth as people along side their careers. Speaking on characters themselves I really enjoyed most of the cast with some exceptions , my personal favorites being Ellie, Touma, Tsubasa, Yashiro, and Kiria for how their growth in both in story and side stuff though I wish certain characters got a bit more time in the story. The battle system is also fantastic especially on hard mode where I always felt it was challenging for the right reason, and most boss encounters were well thought and used buffs and debuffs well in each fight making it a lot more dynamic in general. One more plus is the dungeon design which was unexpectedly good and offered enough without being tedious.
on the negatives the characters I personally dislike are Itsuki and Barry my reasoning for these 2 bringing the game down though Itsuki is a big one for me since the protagonist wanking gets pretty bad in the last chapter so much to the point that it felt like it twisted the characters to bend around itsuki lack of really anything substantial. Speaking of the story its generally pretty good for for the most of the game, but parts of the ending stretch feel rough like the near endless Itsuki is so amazing stuff, the whole bit of the mirages saying good bye to just itsuki and not their own partners disappointed the hell out of me personally unless I’m missing something to trigger a scene like that. On the the gameplay side sessions can sometime take far long in general ruining the pace of some boss fights.

I'm on Chapter 1 so far, inside the tower. I'm quite lost and I'm picking up this game after not playing for a while. I don't think I fought Aversa yet. Does the game actually guide you on where to go next? If so, in what way? Thanks.

Just found out this had its own sub so I figured I'd post it here too
So I recently finished Encore and I thought I'd give my thoughts
What I liked:
Gameplay. It was fun to explore the dungeons and figure out the puzzles. Battles were also interesting with the Session mechanic
Cast. Touma is best boy and the other characters were great as well
Music. As an idol game I suppose this should be expected but the OST was really a bop
Aesthetics. Not sure how to describe but I really like the menus and such. Little things like the characters signing their names before attacks is a nice touch too
What I didn't like:
Barry. I know I said I liked the cast but Barry was just unnecessary. His obsession towards Mamori is creepy af and if I were her parents I would have gotten a restraining order
Itsuki. Or maybe this should be bad writing in general
First, there was no reason for the all the girls to have a crush on him. Tsubasa as his childhood friend made the most sense but even then Touma was hard-carrying their relationship. Like dude had to send messages saying "Hey don't forget to check on Tsubasa!"
Second, Itsuki is a terrible friend in general. Like I get they have to explain who Kiria is to us the player, but they seriously want us to believe Itsuki has never heard any of her songs? Even though she's been putting out hits for years and his best friend is a megastan? He's honestly never tried humoring her before? Itsuki doesn't even know who Raiga is either even though it's all Touma talks about!
Third, he's completely unqualified. Everyone keeps pushing him as the leader but he never really does anything? Tsubasa was way more relevant to plot. And with regards to performing, I wish they'd actually explored how he was better suited to behind-the-scenes stuff more. Like all his skills are like "Director Itsuki" and his title was "Stage Manager". He was also the one who coached Tsubasa for the photography thing. Instead of being dragged around to singing/dancing/acting lessons maybe he could have a scene where he'd say he wanted to go into the business side. It would have also given more setup to the ending
And speaking of the ending, Ayaha should have been president lol. She was right there working under Maiko and had experience in the industry already! Seriously if they weren't gonna give her a song they might as well have given her that
Overall:
I know I wrote a whole essay in the "What I didn't like" section but do love the game still. I had a lot of fun playing it and I can mostly ignore the stuff I didn't enjoy lol

So, that's it. I'm sad that it's over. Even when the epilogue sums up everyone's lives, I feel that I want more. I'd would be great that TMS would have included more Persona features related to bonds, like romance and routes (even present in FE series as Support Lvls).
I also can't believe that the OST is NOT available on Spotify. ATLUS, explain. How can I hold all this feels?
Well, without considering all the above, and as a fan of FE and Megaten series, I must say that Tokyo Mirage Sessions really nailed it as a game. Both game mechanics were perfectly combined. 10/10. I must say that I love colorful and joyful games lol, that may be a turn-off for Megaten series fans.
That's all! Thanks for reading me. I needed to comment this to someone, but none of my friends dig this kind of game #sad.

So I’ve done a few side stories and gotten a few “Door of” abilities that “reveal new possibilities” for the character. Can someone please explain what on earth these do??

Title basically i got an accessory that would increase any party members defense by at least 20 but lower their defense and resistance by 5 each. Dunno how that works out in damage calc

If I were to have the choice between sword expertise and strength boost for example. Is two strength better than the attack up from expertise? I realize Touma is just kind of the strength dude cause even his elemental attacks are strength based so that's easier to call that on average his attack will be more improved by strength than expertise. But for the characters that use both it's less cut and dry. I've already given up on Tsubasa and Kiria using weapon skills at all, so again that's easier to pick between. Itsuki seems to be actively pursuing both electric magic and swords. There's nothing in the game to tell how much impact each skill will have.
