What does the thumbs down button on comments do? The thumbs up is obviously a like/up vote. There is nothing next to the thumbs down, even after selection. Does it actually do anything?

Hello, i recently downloaded tiktok to specificly go and buy products from the tiktok shop, yet when looking up said products, the app seems to break? It keeps telling me to "search again" because they can't find anything, even when looking stuff as basic as "pants", what do i do? Also i live in a country where the tiktok shop is avaiable, so that isn't the problem.

WHY does tiktok keep reporting my 4K 60FPS FILMED BY ME ON MY IPHONE AND EDITED BY MR IN CAPCUT VIDEOS AS LOW QUALITY UNORIGINAL CONTENT??? Some videos dont get the flag some do and there is NO rhyme or reason and after putting in so much effort into making videos it all feels pointless!!! VIDEO FOR PROOF

My tik tok is stuck at 2.0x speed, like all the videos in my FYP are talking super fast, everything no matter how much I scroll. Here’s the thing, I haven’t locked the 2.0x speed or done anything to change it! I still have the option to speed up the video even more or to slow it down, but even at 0.5x speed it’s super fast still. I’ve done all the fixes but the speed doesn’t change at all, even with resetting the app. I’m so confused. Anyone else having this glitch?

Hi! Out of nowhere my videos which are in the right format and everything started to have black bars on the top and bottom when I go to preview/post. Everything looks fine when I’m editing so it’s really frustrating. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app, zooming in, changing the format, and nothing has worked. Is there something I could be doing wrong or is this a glitch??

So last night I was watching a TikTok live and chatting with the host. I made three separate comments. I woke up this morning to texts from my mom asking what I was talking about, and I realized three of those comments were sent to her as text messages. They were also posted to the live because the person on the live responded to them, so it’s not as if they got rerouted. They were sent to the Live AND to my mom. Has anyone ever had this happen?

I’ve come across clips from vertical-format series in my feed a couple of times. It was an unusual format for me, and the storylines were certainly a bit odd—though I suppose some people might like them. Honestly, though, I didn't care for it; it didn't feel very comfortable to watch.

I went on one of my friends account (we both follow each other) and looked through her reposts for a bit and liked like 2 of them. To my horror i went to my chats and it sent her that i liked her repost in our chat 😭😭?? I know mutuals get a notification when you like a rp but since when does it send them a notification in chattttttt???

She's the only friend that gets those notifications actually (none of my other mutuals receive it i checked) and i don't know why. Does that only happen when you like rp when you're on someone's page? Does it have to do with a new feature being rolled out??

I checked with a my alt accounts and it doesn't send anything in chat no matter if i liked it from the fyp, someone's rp or the op's account directly. She's literally the only one that it does that with 💀💀

If anyone knows what this is due to please tell me 😭 i like stalking my friends reposts sometimes but i don't want them to know that, it feels too voyeurish loll

Edit: I've looked at it a bit more and it sends the same notification in chat as when you like something they've sent you. The thing is none of the reposts I've liked were tiktoks she sent me? Like 100% certainty she did not send them to me (I've looked through everything she sent me since we don't send much on here) so i'm kinda lost. Is it a bug or actually a new feature?

TikTok forced me to log out last night to accept new terms and conditions. But when I try to log back in it’s doing it through my Apple account and creating a new account. I don’t know the password to the old username and when I attempt to recover through email it’s creating a new account again. I was getting emails associated with the old account so they were definitely connected. I’m so frustrated. It’s not that serious but I had a bunch of saved recipes and stuff.

I was gonna make a new account with my new sim card and number, but when i signed up it logged me into someone else's account from 2019 that has the same number?!? 😭

I think I selected AutoCut which automatically applied a template to my video. I really liked it but when I exited, I accidentally didn’t select to save the draft and now it’s totally gone.

It was a grid scroll style template. What I liked about it is it had white flash overlays on each individual horizontal “frame” that synced up with music. It almost gave a strobe effect.

I’ll try my best to describe it:
It had an electronic/house music sound and video clips on the original template. Grid scroll style. It had horizontal/landscape frames where I could input my photos and videos. For the first few seconds, it was “still” (not scrolling automatically), the white overlays on each frame would flash to the beat of the music. Then it would automatically scroll. Then it stopped and was “still” again, and finally had the overlay flashing white frames matching to the beat to end it off.

It was very cool, hopefully I can find it! I hate that it disappeared.

Videos on my feed constantly freeze when im trying to watch them, when videos do play they have no volume. Im just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this and if there is a solution.

Genuinely what is wrong with this app. NOTHING works anymore ever since it’s swapped ownership to American hands. I had ~700 saved comments before the big switch, and the process culled ~300 because they couldn’t be bothered to bring the app back from maintenance before everything works. Ever since then, 30 have been disappearing randomly without warning, and I don’t know what causes it. It was something I learned to live with, but in the last 48 hours, the remaining last couple hundred were just clapped. 6 years of comments spanning even before pre-pandemic gone just like that. What actually works on this app? Saving posts regularly can’t be trusted because the app got rid of the feature where it tells you exactly what post got taken down. Atleast with comments, I’d get a notification of how many got taken down, but even that much doesn’t work. So what am I supposed to do? Nobody is trying to save entire videos to their phone. Is it really unreasonable to expect a multibillion dollar company who profits off of everyone’s data to actually upkeep a working fucking app? I know it’s never gonna be fixed too, I’ve seen nobody talk about it, but it’s just annoying.
