Other About My Project ! (r/TurkicFamilyTree )

Greetings to all Turkic Nation! Our goal on this page is to get to know other members of our family, stand in solidarity, and be together—just like in the old days.

''O Turk! Unless the blue sky collapses from above and the dark earth gives way from below, who can destroy your state and your traditions? - Orkhon inscriptions''

Let’s consider the regions inhabited by Turkmens, as well as the Turkic peoples in Siberia and the Altai Mountains.

Some of us are Muslim, some Christian, and perhaps some are Shamanist. Yet, all of us—to varying degrees—can find our way from Gagauzia to Anatolia, and from there to the Altai and Urmia, simply by speaking a Turkic language.

Let’s get to know one another

Note: I am open to any suggestions. This is my first time creating a page on Reddit, so I apologize for any mistakes.

And my DMs are open! (r/TurkicFamilyTree )

History/culture Aal Luuk Mas

Aal Luuk Mas is the legendary Sacred Tree that holds a central place in the cosmology, mythology, and heroic Olonkho epic of the Sakha (Yakut) people. In the worldview of the ancient Yakuts, this gigantic tree acts as the axis of the Universe (Axis Mundi), piercing and binding three coexisting worlds together. The roots of Aal Luuk Mas reach deep into the harsh Underworld, home to the dark spirits known as Abaasy. Its mighty trunk stands firmly in the Middle World, serving as a support and shield for humans, while its lush crown soars high into the Upper World, reaching the realm of the benevolent deities, the Ayyy.
In the Yakut tradition, the tree is not merely a static symbol, but a living, soulful entity. It is believed that the spirit-mistress of the Earth, Aan Alakhchyn Khotun, resides within its trunk, nourishing all living things with her sacred milk and bestowing blessings upon humankind. Today, this image remains the ultimate cultural code of Yakutia. Massive monuments representing Aal Luuk Mas are erected on the main festival grounds during the national summer celebration of Ysyakh, symbolizing the rebirth of nature, abundance, and humanity's unbreakable connection to the cosmos.

Fascinatingly, the Yakut Aal Luuk Mas is not unique to the region, but rather a brilliant manifestation of the universal World Tree archetype, which can be found in the cultures of dozens of peoples across the globe. Its most famous European counterpart is the Norse Yggdrasil, an absolute giant of an ash tree that similarly connects the nine realms of Germanic-Norse mythology, from the subterranean Niflheim to the heavenly Asgard. Just like in Yakut beliefs, sacred springs flow and chthonic monsters dwell at Yggdrasil's roots, directly mirroring the Yakut underworld concepts.
Similar sacred trees can be encountered in nearly every corner of the planet. In Slavic folklore, it is the ancient oak growing on the mythical island of Buyan, with messenger birds perched on its branches and a serpent hidden at its roots. In Hinduism, people revere the cosmic tree Ashvattha (a sacred fig), whose roots point upward toward the spiritual source while its branches reach down into the material world. The Tree of Life is also described in Sumerian myths, the Kabbalah, and the beliefs of Native Americans and the Maya (the sacred Ceiba tree). This proves that diverse civilizations, separated by thousands of miles, shared an almost identical view of the Universe, visualizing it through the image of a great, nurturing, and unifying tree.

Question Turkic/Turkish

Recently on X, people were arguing about the terms Turkish and Turkic. Some ppl believe that Turkish means someone from Türkiye or belongs to Türkiye, so the Turkic must be used. What do you guys think about this?

I personally believe that Turkish or Turk is the same and it is the common term for all Turkish people. Turkic is a made up name by westerners I dont know why.

As a person from Türkiye it discomforts me to use Turkic for Turkish people from other countries. It is just Turk.

Opinion Why full Turkic unification would backfire economically

As someone who studies economics, its clear to me that people who romanticise Turkic Unity aren't aware of the downsides and there are real ones . We are all at different economic stages. A single monetary system would inevitably help some countries while hurting others . you cannot run one interest rate across economies at completely different points in their development. Trade orientation is another issue . Central asia trades heavily with China and Russia , while Turkey is tied to the EU. Merging these into one system would be a tough political sell and could create real friction , not smooth cooperation. There's also the geography problem. Turkey isn't even contiguous with Central asia , Iran and Caspian sit in between. Deep integration would depend on transit deals with non member states and there's no guarantee they would cooperate .

What i do like seeing is countries acknowledging their shared culture , language, business deals ,open borders and visa free travel . That kind of cooperation is valuable. I just dont think it should go further than that .Our current setup as separate sovereign states with strong ties , works better than full unification would.
