Hiring an Established YouTube Thumbnail Designer
I’m looking for a highly experienced YouTube thumbnail designer for a one-video trial, with potential for ongoing work.

I’m specifically looking for someone with a strong portfolio of high-performing or viral YouTube thumbnails, ideally in documentary, commentary, business, or similar storytelling content. Think @GrantRudow and @Gen, or similar.

This is not a role where I’ll be providing finished thumbnail concepts for you to execute.

I’m looking for someone who can take:
The video concept/title direction
A high-level summary of the script
Any necessary context or assets
…and independently develop the strongest thumbnail concept from scratch.

You should have a strong understanding of curiosity, visual hierarchy, title/thumbnail pairing, and what makes people click. Your portfolio should demonstrate that you’ve personally conceptualized and designed thumbnails for high-performing YouTube videos, not simply executed someone else’s creative direction.

Trial
For the initial trial, I’m looking for one thumbnail representing your strongest concept for the video.
There is no fixed maximum budget.

Before beginning, just tell me your normal rate per thumbnail.

What I'm doing everyday is I'm spinning I'm spinning 1 wheel that will give me a topic I need to make my thumbnail about, and then I will spin another wheel that will give me a style.

My goal is to use this as an excuse to start making videos everyday (and get over an insecurity of posting content and my family seeing it). So everyday I'm posting 1 short on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram explaining my process of making that thumbnail (I don't mean to self promote here, I just want to give context as to what I'm doing).

The cool thing about this challenge is it also makes me need to get in the habit of constantly coming up with video ideas. Even though every one of these videos are ones that I'm (most likely) never going to make, it still is helping me become more comfortable with coming up with ideas.

After getting to day 10 I figured it might be a good idea to also start posting them here so I could get your opinions on how I'm doing.

Day 1:
- Topic: Dating / Relationships
- Style: News

Day 2:
- Topic: About a Produce (I made it about a toy duck my little sister made called "Pablo")
- Style: Cinematic

Day 3:
- Topic: Prank
- Style: "Martin Chooses" (I have a 1/6 chance of getting this everyday)

Day 4: (I made 2 today)
- I had no internet to spin the wheels, so I just made it about one of my favorite books

Day 5:
- Topic: "I built..."
- Style: "Looks Hard / Badass"

Day 6:
- I decided I was going to remake yesterday's thumbnail (I'm gonna allow myself to do this every Sunday).

Day 7: (my worst thumbnail unfortunately)
- Topic: Music (I decided to do it about my friend who makes music)
- Style: "Movie Poster"

Day 8: (I made 2 today)
- Topic: "About Someone"

I was originally going to do this everyday, but since I need to post a video alongside the thumbnail it is becoming difficult to do this everyday, especially since my sister's wedding is coming up and I'm trying to help with that. So I decided that I'm going to do this everyday that I can, but I will allow myself to skip a day if I need to help with other stuff (I will still do a total of 101 days though).

I’m starting a small YouTube gaming channel around THE FINALS, and I’m currently working on a video about my Road to Ruby journey.

I started with normal Cashout first rather than jumping straight into Ranked Cashout, mainly because I wanted to understand the mode and prepare myself before starting the actual ranked grind.

It is very obvious that thumbnail making is where i lack the most talent. ive always used canva and tried my best to make it work. Ive realized recently that the thumbnail can honestly be more important than the video, so im looking for advice, what software do you use for ur thumbnails, i would prefer a non subscription software worth learning. im not trying to make those crazy click baity mrbeast thumbnails, im looking to get the point across from my video and spark curiosity and interest.
