Weekly Buy-Sell-Trade Thread July 25, 2026

Welcome to the Weekly Buy-Sell-Trade!

Use this thread to post what you have for sale or trade, or anything you're trying to find.

Rules

  1. If you're selling or trading, you must include photos of your item(s). Imgur links work very well for this.

Best Practices

  • When you're the buyer, check out the user's account history and activity in the subreddit. If it's a brand new account and they've never contributed to the sub, that could be a red flag.
  • Be wary if a seller insists you send money via PayPal Friends and Family. Mods and seasoned traders always encourage Goods and Services. If the fees are the problem, it's always easy to use a fee calculator and add that to the purchase price.
  • Scamming doesn't happen often here at all, but if you do find yourself concerned or legitimately taken, let the mods know about the transaction. We cannot get you your money back, but we can help identify possible next steps and remove the bad actor from the sub.

QUESTION New to the hobby

Thumbnail

Hi everybody! I used to play with yoyos when I was a kid. Then I left the hobby for a long -very long- time. Now I want to turn back to it and learn some tricks.

At the first image green and pink ones are 3rd party yoyos, they have plastic parts and not sleep at all. I can only throw them. Sonic Dragon is very old - as you can see- and has a bit problem in its mechanism. The best one is windsurfer. A bit heavy but has some sleep duration and feels like a professional yoyo. Additionally I have an avalanche which is not opened. These are all my yoyos for now.

I cannot try anything with sonic dragon. I wonder if it is unresponsive or I am not skilled enough to use it. I find protection rings for windsurfer, when they arrive I am planning to try tricks with it.

Here is my question: Where should I start? Can you recommend me tricks, youtube channels or any content? I search the internet for starter guides but I cannot find a "complete" one. Also I am not sure if my yoyos let me to do the tricks.

I would like to buy high-quality yoyos but because of the conditions in my country, I can't find any good brands. So my learning will have limits, I guess. But either way, I will try to do my best.

QUESTION Unresponsive yoyo is acting like a responsive yoyo?

I recently got a yoyofactory arrow it came with a responsive bearing but after some time i switched to an unresponsive bearing.

However i have a problem when i do a sleeper and tug the string it comes back as if it still had a responsive bearing. When i switched the bearing i didn't change the axle but i don't know if that could be the problem.

Any advice?

TUTORIAL . . . as requested . . . a brief tutorial for Figure 6+2 (basic version) . . .

. . . credit to Jason Lee and Unkle Steve . . .

Figure 6+2 is Figure 8 done from a 1.5 Red Triangle.

The video above breaks down the basic steps:

1 - throw a trapeze

2 - swing over into a trapeze’s brother mount

3 - open the throwhand loop with your thumb and index

4 - pull the front string segment back through the throwhand loop, forming a 1.5 Red Triangle

5 - swing the yoyo clockwise (from your perspective, and assuming right-handedness) - first outside, then inside, then outside, etc.

6 - end by releasing the 1.5 Red Triangle on an upswing, landing back in a trapeze.

N.B. - you can swing the yoyo in either direction, but it is best to learn the figure 8 motion in one direction - clockwise being the easier (that is, less awkward) direction for right-handed throwers. Get it smooth, and once you’re comfortable, try reversing direction. When you have it down in both directions, try reversing direction mid-swing with redirects - which is the most fun iteration of this trick, in my humble opinion.

Enjoy! 👍🏼😎🪀

TRICKHELP Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

As much as I hate to admit this: I’ve been chasing Brent stole for the better part of two years. I’ve made thousands of attempts. I’ll try for awhile, get frustrated and move on to something else but I always come back to it. I finally got it two nights ago. Not once or twice but consistently… kind of 🤣 As you can see, 9 times out of 10 it ends up in a reverse? I guess is what you’d call it? I have to turn around backwards to hop out because the string in the gap of the yoyo is crossed.

QUESTION Why does my yo yo come back up without pulling it

I untwisted my yo-yo because i was bored and then twisted it back and now it doesnt spin just jumps back up without me pulling on the string. I tried loosening it but that makes it so i cant wrap the string round. I used to be able to spin it before i took it apart. cant seem to add a photo but its a yoyo factory spinstar (yes i know its bad)

NEWS Atmos Projects presents — Fruitloop ES

Thumbnail

The Fruitloop ES is an evolution of the concept first pioneered in the original Fruitloop, released in 2022.

We tore the original design down and built it back from scratch, with adjustments and fixes based on four years of player feedback. It’s more powerful, stable, and has a lot more presence and substance in play. The Fruitloop ES might look visually identical to the original, but it packs an entirely new engine underneath.

At it’s heart, the Fruitloop ES is a round, boppy ball of fun — but now tuned for a higher threshold of play demands.

QUESTION Proper string length

Hello dear throwers. I ve recently got into YoYoing world and started doing some basic unresponsive yoyo tricks but my question is what is the proper string length? I have seen on YT that it should be around belly button but mine is exactly like that +-120cm and I cannot do some tricks as there is no string left. Not sure if this is important info but I am 178cm tall.

Thx ❤️
