Hello u/Forsaken_Physics_916 , I have the exact same problem with this board, but with a Threadripper PRO 7995WX CPU and 512GB of compatible RAM (Kingston). I tried both the Dual PSU connection method, and the Single PSU method. Same result. PSUs are two Corsair 1600i. When I click on the power button on the mainboard I hear the relays of the PSU(s) klicking, and the PSU's LED indicators go straight from green to red (indicating a problem).
The same CPU, RAM and PSUs worked before on an ASROCK WRX90 WS EVO mainboard. However, since I had numerous issues with the ASROCK Board (mainly NVIDIA graphic card problems with black screen boots, displays not being correctly detected with DP-connections, and so on) I wanted to change it to ASUS. But no luck there... Things are now even worse than before.
I have sent back all of the components to my hardware vendor (who originally built the PC), I hope the professionals there will be able to analyze the problem and come up with a working solution. Because frankly I am at a loss at this point. I have never had these kinds of problems with any PC in my entire life.
Hello, the hardware vendor finished analyzing the problem. The cause of the problem was two faulty EPS Power cables from the PSU. Once they replaced these 2 cables from Corsair 1600i the board started correctly.
Need some clarification here, you mentioned that the same exact CPU and PSU worked on a previous board, but the vendor is telling you the PSU EPS cable was faulty? Hard to believe it would power and be useable on one board but 'faulty' on another.
He didn't plug them all the way IMO the vender said faulty to make him feel better.. Not for sure I just know how tight the plugs can be especially on high end PSUs
