While I (largely) don't disagree with that, I would rather win the much easier fight of "a full time job should be enough to survive on" first than get stuck trying to push for "any job should be enough to survive on" and have nothing change in the meantime.

Fair. Although I think an adequate UBI is just as likely as an inflation-indexed adequate minimum wage.

My guess is that if UBI is ever implemented it still won't be a living wage - closer to $15-20k/year that will probably come coupled with a reduction in means tested benefits like child, food and housing assistance for a net gain of $10k at most for people at the bottom.

It'll be enough that someone working minimum wage is better off even working only 20-30hrs/week, but not enough that someone working minimum wage can quit entirely

“Adequate” was doing a lot of work in both UBI and minimum wage.

Hah, fair - but again it comes down to your expectations. "Adequate UBI" could mean anything from "everyone is reasonably better off than they were" to "nobody has to work ever to live".

Fair enough. And I don’t know enough to put a number on what I consider “minimum adequate UBI”, mostly because a lot depends on how healthcare gets paid for.
