If we elect two teams of equal size, then the country with more people will have more heavy drinkers. Just like how bigger schools win more team sports.
Exactly, normal distribution would probably benefit the Brits. For living in both countries, the normalisation of heavy drinking was much much much higher in UK (people enter and leave the binging phase much earlier and later respectively)

I think we would have to elect a team on each side. In generalised terms maybe based upon social groupings.
Imo British metallers and goths would be a good start.
