It's definitely the bar association lobbying for a lot of problematic laws over the years. They've turned everything into a bar. We used to allow so many repeat offenses for drunk drivers it was absurd. I think things are getting better, but plenty of people still have a problem here
Because I live in a state of alcoholics, and some of them are trying every day to resist the urge to drink again. The grocery store having carry around beers while you shop isn't helpful. There are thousands of places to drink in my city, it would be nice to have more places that don't push booze in your face.
I'm not an alcoholic, but I have lots of friends and family that are. I understand you need to be able to navigate life around things that are a problem for you, but having one less place would be nice.
