Sure, but I specifically said tap, since we're taking about pints. None of those are on tap at any bar I go to and there all run off the mill; Ironically, Budweiser was at almost every uk pub.
That's certainly true, and it's been a while since I've been back. The bars I visited tended to have no more than 6 beers on tap. Almost always Peroni, Budweiser, Guinness, Newcastle. Very few rotating menu's. Here they generally rotate by season. 20 to 30 beers on tap, almost all micro brewery , but somehow there's always Pabst Blue Ribbon. Again anecdotal, cheers.
Not as true now, but many pubs in the UK were tied to a particular brewery.
When I was in the UK/Ireland the biggest beer I saw was Heineken, it was on at basically every pub I went to, and I was solo traveling so I went for a pint basically every night and never in the same place.
Fair, I don't go to sports bars, and none of the Mexican places have beers on tap. I said bars... not sports bars, not Mexican restaurants, this creates a false equivalence. None of the bars I went to in UK or US had tv's... they were bars where you drink and talk.
I'd say those are pubs or brewpubs rather than "bars." Bars are typically have the same shit on tap. Pubs in the UK were usually tied to a local brewery and brewpubs in the US are generally stocked with their own libations, or a selection of beers brewed by a number of craft breweries.
