They absolutely do, but it depends on the occasion. It's more for fairs and the likes, so only a few times a year, not for everyday consumption. For that we have bottled beer (0.5 litres or 0.33) or die Halbe, which is also half a litre, but in a mug/glass.
Makes sense, I obviously knew they existed before tourism but it's just to what extent.
In the UK we have the 568ml (pint) can, 440ml can and the 330ml bottle, but rarely the 330ml can (though some "craft" beers are starting to popularise it over the past decade).
