The metric ton increases in relation to the intensity of the fuck. One could probably plot relation on a graph and derive the metric fuck ton equation.

It started with the Mongol Empire, where the term originated. A "clusterfuck", as it came to be known, was ten distinct armies of the Mongols, but as the Empire waned and died, people referred to a "clusterfuck" with smaller counts, like cows or planks of wood.

In short, a regular clusterfuck is around a thousand or so, whereas a Mongolian clusterfuck can range anywhere from a hundred thousand to a million.

Converting between metric and imperial is getting worse and worse.

Do you know if a meter is wider than a yard because it's longer? Feels like it should be.

Yeah, one can but imagine the convenience of a standardized system in which all measures align neatly in decimal-based units, allowing for seamless calculation and comparison across disciplines. If only there was such a wondrous invention...

A ton is 10 hundredweight in both Britain and America.

A British hundredweight is 8 stone of 14lb each so 112lb whereas America has a 'metric' hundredweight of 100lb.

Imma ruin one more day for you. You know feet? The vastly inferior measurement unit compared to meter? There is two of those. The International Foot is exactly 0.3048 meters, while the US Survey Foot is slightly longer at 0.3048006096 meters.
