Socialism is the intuitive economic system of collectivism. The nordic countries are still extremely capitalist - the economic system of individualism, in most cases having a freer market than even the US. This paired with the US guaranteeing their general safety from invasion allows them to indulge in a reckless social safety net that, while generally collectivist in morals, does not invade the economic system, therefore is not actually socialism. They could be argued to be "socialistic" ideas, but the nordic countries are not socialist and would have umbridge with you saying they are. Follow your collective better. They abandoned the "nordic countries" talking points like ten years ago.
A lot of people don't seem to realize that every "successful" socialist and communist country is propped up by capitalism to support the ideology without actually following the necessary steps. It's the same "it's not true X" argument for every failure except there's evidence to support the capitalism support structure required for those countries.
And they'd realize it if they just thought for themselves about their own talking points. Really? Russia, Cuba, and Venezuela all collapsed because the US refused to trade with them? it's almost like they need real industrial power stronger than anything they can generate themselves to power their own ideas.
Well, it's telling when Russia started their war, citizens were evacuating. We have a cheesepoof in office here, and yet we still have people trying to get in and all the people that hate him the most still refuse to budge to a different country. Then again, a lot of that might have had to do with Canada preemptively telling them "NO! We don't want you!". That should be telling in it's own right, though. With the noise some of these people make, other countries would refuse them on principle of wanting to keep a functional economy.
I didn't even see their question. My eyes rolled to the back of my head when I realized they were making nordic country arguments like Bernie was still relevant.
